Manners need to be taught, shown and supported by parents, teachers and other adults who have the authority of them.<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>General Manners In and Outside Home<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span>Do not make fun of anyone. Teasing shows you are weak, and ganging up on someone else is cruel<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Say &#8220;Excuse me&#8221; if you interrupt \u00a0into somebody<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>When you sneeze or a cough, simply cover your mouth<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Don&#8217;t pick your nose in public<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>When an adult asks for a favor, do it without complaining and with a smile<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>When someone helps, say &#8220;thank you.&#8221; That person might likely want to help you again<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Say \u201cPlease\u201d when asking<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Say \u201cThank you\u201d when receiving<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Show respect for others and elders<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Don\u2019t use bad language<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Ask permission before touching or taking things<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Return things you have borrowed from others<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Don\u2019t put your legs up on seats on public transport<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Throw rubbish in a bin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><b>At Mealtimes<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span>Be polite when someone serves you<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Don&#8217;t reach for things at the table; ask to have them passed<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Use a napkin to wipe your mouth when necessary<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Put away phones or video games at mealtimes and conversations<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Use eating utensils properly.
